"Detecting horizons of symmetric black holes using relative differential invariants"
In this talk we focus on Lorentzian metrics with some fixed (but arbitrary) Killing algebra k. We show that scalar relative differential invariants, with respect to the Lie algebra of vector fields that preserve k, can be used to detect horizons of several well-known black holes. In particular, using the Lie algebra structure of the Killing algebra k, we construct a general relative differential invariant that always vanishes on a certain type of Killing horizons, namely those that are invariant with respect to the Killing algebra k.
