"Isometric immersions into Euclidean space: a brief review".
The theory of isometric immersions is a classical subject with many celebrated results. I will briefly review it and discuss the role of Gauss, Codazzi and Ricci equations from the viewpoint of overdetermined PDEs. Then I discuss the rigidity of immersions given by either isometry constraint or by the Gauss-Grassman map, and give examples of situations when the rigidity fails even for both constraints simultaneously.
