"Wave turbulence"
In this talk I will give an overview of wave turbulence, the long time
statistical behavior of solutions of field equations describing the weakly
nonlinear interaction of a sea of dispersive wavetrains (think of the sea
surface) in the presence of sources and sinks. In particular, I will describe
the stationary solutions which correspond to the fluxes of energy and waveaction
(particles) and discuss how these solutions are reached. Connections with fully
developed 3D hydrodynamic turbulence at large Reynolds numbers will be given and
I will offer a new conjecture.
